This is a good-quality piece of Siberian woolly mammoth ivory (Mammuthus primigenius). The ivory of this tusk-segment is rock-without despite the tiny fissure on the thinner cross-cut section. One cross-cut section is thicker and narrower than the other – please carefully look at the pictures for precise dimensions. This piece offers plenty of reserves on both ends. The colour of the ivory is beige-brown.
Age: Over 10,000 years
Origin: Sakha Republic (Yakutia)
This piece is presented in its natural condition – it is not stabilized and /or injected with resin. Please take note that none of our mammoth ivory is artificially stabilized and / or restored unless explicitly stated.
